As an empath and a highly sensitive person, staying grounded is functionally essential. The ability to pick up on and tune into subtle energies and nuances or possessing "hyper-awareness" can be harnessed and channeled into masterful deeds or serve intricate webs of confusion. Being so closely present in the body and experiencing it intimately can lead us ("super sensitized" beings) to the very edge of a microcosmic moment, so remaining centered and balanced within the scope of our greater surroundings is paramount.

...the quality of being ungrounded can intensify impressions and make us prone to the invocation of different mental, emotional, intellectual and spiritual imbalances. Influences throughout our daily lives have the ability to affect us more (or less) than they normally would when we are off-kilter. Then, add in biological, chemical and social factors and/or other layered paradigms in relation to shaping our realities.
The artist | The visionary
As artists, there are spaces we create a presence in that are led by emotion and other cathartic catalysts. And the pathways we impart take us through otherworldy terrain worthy of surrender. There's an entire energy spectrum that is constantly tugging for acknowledgment and it can be a marvelous symphony. But it can also be noisy as all hell and a cause for recklessness or confusion. It can heal us from our wounds and give others the tools to do the same. A gift to us, for the world..
But a gift can also be a curse.
We're human (most likely with an overactive sympathetic system) and we experience human things. When spending time in meditative spaces such as creation - it's important to bring insights gained back into the physical world and implement them. Expression, in any form, can become faulty when there's destabilized spaciousness.
The dark side of this s p a c i o u s n e s s can make it difficult to concentrate, complete tasks and understand the people around you. It can also become difficult to keep good track of the linear perspective of time and be a distraction. All of this accessible power, wisdom and magic becomes useless when the merging is unsteady and not on firm ground.

How to ground ?
Our operating cultures have taken us further and further away from organic forms of nature and into more structured (unnatural) ways of living. But, with that said, this can be countered and acclimated in healthy equivalence with simple lifestyle adjustments.
Harness your passions and take time to (re)connect with your root (chakra). It's where we store consciousness for this fundamental (primal-like) aspect. You'll discover this healing energy in true nature; bare and in only the truth of your existence. Generate a practice or your work from the melodic hues and tones of this dimensional recognition.
Generally speaking, engaging any form of pure nature with conscious breathing is truly all you need (to get started). In the warmer months, walking barefooted on the grass can ground your energies as well as taking a dip in some cool fresh water for an invigorating grounding experience.
